THE NUMBER OF DRAG RACING SPECIAL PAINT SCHEMES RAPIDLY INCREASED AROUND THE TURN OF THE CENTURY. Not unlike NASCAR, the popularity of special paint schemes began their uphill ascent around 1998, and continued to proliferate until businesses (i.e. sponsors) and race teams began feeling the affects of the recession in 2008. That turning point ushered in more split sponsorships and one-off race packages as a way to secure and ensure revenue to support a full season.

Over the past 16 years I've been privileged to work with many of drag racings top teams and drivers including Don "The Snake" Prudhomme, John Force, Jim and Jon Dunn, the Pedregon brothers, Larry Dixon, Ron Capps, Antron Brown, Warren and Kurt Johnson, Joe Amato, Steve Johnson, Jerry Toliver and many others. NHRA drag racing designs differ from NASCAR because the sponsors and race organization are more lenient when it comes to graphics and placement of those graphics on the body. Paint schemes tend to appear less corporate, bland and reserved and instead welcome punchy, colorful and wild. This is of course what the fans expect to see and the aggressive designs garner the most attention. Understated driver numbers open up space on the body allowing for increased design flexibility. Sponsors can be repositioned more freely to accommodate a particular paint scheme rather than working in reverse (like on a stock car) where graphic restrictions and mandatory sponsor locations are strongly enforced.

I enjoy the creative freedom designing drag car paint schemes. I've always preferred drag racing to all other forms of motorsports for a variety of reasons but mostly I'm attracted to the speed and raw power. If you've ever attended a live NHRA event and felt the thunderous rumble under your feet and the wind up of the 8,000 hp engines as they rush past at 300+ mph then you can appreciate the draw to this form of motorsports.

Below is a collection of drag car designs that spans from 1999 to present day. If you are seeking a livery designer with years of motorsports experience look no further. I'm your man and would be happy to discuss your project and provide a free quote.
